Chinese Sun Dandan shattered women's 500 meters Asia record in the preliminary races at the Asian short-track speedskating Championships here on Saturday.

Clocking in 45.414 seconds, Sun Dandan beat the old mark of 45. 490 seconds set by her compatriot Yang Yang (A) at the Fourth Asian Winter Games in January 31, 1999.
