Business 34th HK Products Expo Opens

The Chinese Manufacturers' Association of Hong Kong (CMA) officially inaugurated the 34th Hong Kong Products Expo (HKPE) in Hong Kong on December 11.

Addressing the opening ceremony, CMA president Chan Wing Kee said the HKPE not only "presents a comprehensive picture on Hong Kong's manufacturing industry," but also "provides Hong Kong citizens a good opportunities to know more about the manufacturing sector."

A total of 680 indoor and outdoor booths have been set up by more than 300 exhibitors to showcase a wide spectrum of products ranging from clothing, accessories, toys, household, foodstuffs, pharmaceutical products to electronic products.

The Expo also features a number of thematic pavilions including the "All-in-One Pavilion," "Technology Pavilion," "Macao Pavilion," "Shijiazhuang Pavilion," "Music Gallery" and "Kiddyland."

In addition, during the 23-day Expo, visitors will be able to enjoy a variety of programs, including the "Miss Exhibition Pageant," "Top Ten Hong Kong Brandnames Awards," "Hong Kong-Macao Together" Celebration, "Into the New Millennium" Celebration, " Photo Contest," "Children Drawing Competition" and "Booth Design Competition."

More than 200 guests, including Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Tung Chee Hwa, attended the opening ceremony of the 34th HKPE.

The CMA inaugurated the 1st HKPE in 1938 to enhance Hong Kong's commercial and industrial development, as well as to promote Hong Kong's external trade. (Xinhua)
