Sports IAAF President Diack Becomes IOC Member

Senegal's Lamine Diack, the new president of the International Amateur Athletic Federation (IAAF), was elected Saturday as a member of the International Olympic Committee in Lausanne.

Diack was appointed as interim IAAF president after the death last month of Italy's Primo Nebiolo, an IOC member since 1992.

Diack has been confirmed as president of the IAAF until its next congress in 2001. (Xinhua)
