On the night of December 9, more than 1000 teachers and students of Peking University held a singing contest to commemorate the December 9 Movement of 1935 and greet Macao's return scheduled for December 20.

Filled with enthusiasm, they sang songs, including "the Motherland Stretching Its Two Arms", "I Have China in My Heart" and "The Waves of Gulangyu". These songs express their patriotic feeling, their determination to serve the motherland and their congratulations on Macao's return to the motherland.
