Sports Top-seeded Mixed Doulbes Shuttlers Crash out Badminton World GP Finals

Chinese world number one pair Liu Yong and Ge Fei crashed out to Tri Kusharyanto and Minarti Timur of Indonesia 8-15, 13-15 at the badminton World Grand Prix finals in Brunei on Saturday.

The six-ranked Indonesians go to Sunday's final against South Korean world champions Kim Dong-Moon and Ra Kyung-Min, who beat fourth-ranked Danish pair of Michael Sogaard and Rikke Olsen 15-11, 15-12.

In women's doubles, China's reigning world and Olympic champions Ge Fei and Gu Jun beat Indonesia's Etty Tantri and Cynthia Tuwankotta 15-3, 15-4 to reach the final.

They will be aiming for their sixth straight world GP finals title against the South Korean second seeds Ra Kyung-Min and Chung Jae-Hee, a 15-6, 15-9 winners over China's Chen Lin and Jiang Xuelian.

The men's doubles final will take place between top seeded South Korean world champions Ha Tae-Kwon and Kim Dong-Moon and Indonesia's Tony Gunawan and Candra Wijaya, world number three.

The South Koreans outlasted the second-ranked South Korean duo of Yoo Yong-Sung and Lee Dong-Soo, 4-15, 15-10, 15-7, while the Indonesians made short work of Malaysia's Choong Tan Fook and Lee Wan Wah, 15-12, 15-5. (Xinhua)
