Sci-Tech Ericsson Expands GSM Net in Southwest China

Ericsson recently signed an agreement with southwest China's Sichuan Province to provide equipment and software for Sichuan to expand its GSM net.

With total volume of nearly 100 million US dollars, the contract between the Nanjing Ericsson Telecommunication Co. Ltd and the Sichuan Mobile Telecommunication Company will help the province expand its net users from 600,000 to 1.4 million.

Besides system equipment, Ericsson will also provide solutions and technical support for improving net operations. The two parties will also set up a Maintenance Center in the capital of the province, Chengdu city, to provide related services.

It is the fourth contract that Ericsson has signed in the province. Ericsson has set up 23 offices and eight joint ventures in China.
