China Chinese Vice-Premier Meets Iranian Vice-President

Chinese Vice-Premier Qian Qichen met with visiting Iranian Vice-President Mohammad Hashemi in Beijing on November 29, with both sides agreeing to advance bilateral ties.

Qian said that China and Iran enjoy a traditional friendship and bilateral relations have witnessed smooth development over the past decade. China values its ties with Iran and will continue to promote bilateral cooperative relations on the basis of the Five Principles of Peaceful Co-Existence, he added.

Hashemi told Qian that Iran attaches importance to fostering friendly and cooperative ties with China and is ready to make a concerted effort with China to enhance bilateral links in various fields.

Hashemi and Chinese State Councilor Wu Yi jointly signed a summary of agreement on the tenth session of the China-Iran Joint Committee on Economic, Trade, Scientific and Technological Cooperation here this evening.

Hashemi is visiting China as guest of Wu Yi.
