Sci-Tech China Sets Up Neuroscience Institute

China has set up its first Neuroscience Institute attached to the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) in Shanghai on November 27.

The institute will study the inner workings of the brain and seek to find out solutions to typical brain diseases. The institute will also make a new type of intelligent computer and robot.

CAS will invite Poo Mu-Ming, professor in neurobiology of the University of California at San Diego, to head the institute.

Scientists from overseas have been employed to work at the institute.
