Sci-Tech IBM Funds Leasing Company in Shanghai

The IBM Corporation has joined with China's computer giant Great Wall Company and opened leasing operations in Shanghai on November 23 with an investment of 20 million US dollars.

This is so far the largest Sino-overseas joint leasing company in China and will engage in leasing IBM hardware and related products and offers information technology (IT) support for IBM's cooperative partners in China.

The leasing company is expected to resolve money problems faced by many government departments, banks, multinationals, and state-owned enterprises when introducing hi-tech products, and allow users to keep pace with the latest technology.

The leasing company is IBM's eighth joint venture in China, and the company has now funded IT leasing businesses in more than 40 countries and regions.
