Culture Seminar on "One Country, Two Systems" Held in Macao

More than 100 scholars from China's interior areas, Hong Kong and Macao held a seminar in Macao November 21 night to discuss the prospect of implementing the concept of "one country, two systems" in the future Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR).

The participants said that they are confident about the practice of "one country, two systems" principle in the Macao SAR which will be set up on December 20 this year.

The creative concept put forward by Deng Xiaoping has been proved successful in the Hong Kong SAR, and the success has set a good example for the concept's implementation in Macao, they said.

The Macao SAR government will surely find a good way to carry out the concept with the enthusiastic participation of local residents, the scholars said, adding that the Basic Law of the Macao SAR will serve as a fundamental legal guarantee for the concept's sound implementation.
