World DPRK Expels U.S. Citizen on Charges of Military Espionage

The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) on Friday expelled a U.S. citizen for spying.

So Sun-dok, the expelled U.S. citizen, was caught red-handed on September 29 when he was stealing military secrets posed as an investor in the Rajin-Sonbong Economic Zone, said the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA).

The KCNA said So has admitted his crime and his expulsion is a lenient move taken by DPRK in view of the repeated requests from the U.S. government.

The agency also said that during investigation, DPRK has offered humanitarian help to So and allowed him to have consular contacts according to a draft consular agreement signed between the two countries in December 1994.
