World Indian, Pak Senior Army Officials to Meet in Lahore

Indian and Pakistan army inspector generals will meet in Lahore on November 18-21 to help de-escalate border tension and discuss issues related to smuggling along the International Border with Pakistan.

A military spokesman in Jammu said that the meeting, being organized after a year, will be helpful in de-escalating border tension particularly in the Jammu sector, where firing from across the border is a regular feature, according to the Press Trust of India (PTI) Tuesday.

Other issues, including halt of trans-border smuggling of arms, weaponry and narcotics, straying of cattle and border cultivation, will also be discussed.
