Culture Sino-Italian Medical Emergency Center Opens

A Sino-Italian medical emergency center has opened recently in Taiyuan, the capital of north China's Shanxi Province.

The project was initiated in October 1987 with four million US dollars from the Italian government. The center's construction, medical equipment and emergency facility cost 2.65 million US dollars, and the remainder of the funds will be used for professional training and technology exchanges.

Located in the city's central hospital, the emergency center covers an area of 8,017 square meters. The center, in addition to providing timely medical services, especially emergency treatment, will carry out medical research and education projects. (Xinhua)
