As small businesses become more dynamic in China, information technology companies are paying particular attention to the market.

Two of the largest IT companies in the world, IBM and Microsoft, brought to Beijing this month their latest resolution schemes especially suited to small businesses.

China now has more than 10 million small and medium-sized firms which generate 30 percent of the total industrial output.

"We are very concerned with the Internet and Intranet construction of small businesses because of their strategic position," said Chen Yiliang, President of the HP (China) Co. Ltd.. They are listed high on our business agenda."

HP has supported the State Economic and Trade Commission in a project promoting the Internet construction of small businesses since May this year.

Wang Zhongming, director of the Training department of the SETC, said the project aims to inform small businesses how to use advanced technology to compete on the international market.
