Sports Japan Beat Tunisia 3-0 in Women's World Cup

Japan enjoyed the luxury of easy opposition by overpowering Tunisia in straight sets for the sixth win out of eight matches in the 12-nation women's volleyball World Cup round-robin tournament.

The host nation took only 57 minutes to score their 25-10, 25-12, 25-12 victory against the winless Tunisia.

Chikako Kumamae was chosen as the Most Impressive Player and also top scorer with 12 points. Japanese coach Nobuchika Kuzuwa used the match as an opportunity to give Junko Moriyama a brief outing following injury. "It was great that Moriyama could play today and we could perform some good plays," he said.

It was yet another learning experience for Tunisian coach Noureddi Ben Younes, who said: "We were surprised at the combinations of the Japanese team because it was so different from the Europeans. We were quite at a loss at the speed of the Japanese."
