Culture China to Build Car Theme Park

A theme park all about cars will be built in the automobile industrial center of Yangzhou, a scenic city in east China's Jiangsu Province, to boost tourism.

The park, the first of its kind in China, is estimated to cost from 20 to 80 million US dollars. Design and construction plans are in the making, a tourism official said, but he did not mention the time frame for the project.

The city has a solid background in the car industry. The Yangzhou Yaxing Bus Plant, a big producer of passenger vehicles in China, and Germany's Mercedes-Benz have cooperated to build a large auto-making venture in the city.

As a prosperous city in ancient times, Yangzhou is home to many ancient relics and scenic spots, offering a favorable cultural environment for the car park, the official said.
