China Chinese Blood Center Passes International Quality Accreditation

The blood center in south China' s Hainan Province has passed the ISO9002 quality authentication on November 3.

This is the country's first blood center to pass such quality authentication, said a local medical official.

This shows that China's quality control system for blood products is reaching international standards, he said.

In March, the center initiated an international quality control system to supervise blood collection, preparation, testing and storage in the province, according to the official.

Under this system, the center can provide medical organizations across the province with eight million milliliters of qualified blood, he added.
