China Efforts Should Be Made to Keep Stability in Nansha, FM Spokeswoman

China believes that the situation in the area of Nansha is stable and that countries concerned should make efforts to preserve peace and stability in this region.

The remarks were made by Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Zhang Qiyue in response to a question at the regular press conference in Beijing November 2.

Zhang urged countries concerned not to do anything that may affect regional stability, including military exercises which target others as imagined enemies.

On the second meeting of the China-Philippine working group on the confidence-building measures, China and Philippine agreed not to hold military exercise against the other as the imagined enemy, and inform the other side in advance when one side holds military exercise in the Nansha region, she noted.
