Visiting Chinese President Jiang Zemin said in Riyadh November 1 that the cooperation between China and Saudi Arabia has solid foundation and bright prospect since their political relations are sound and economies strongly complement with each other.

During his meeting with Saudi businessmen in the Saudi capital, Jiang said that bilateral relations have seen rapid growth as a result of concerted efforts made by the governments of the two countries and of hard working by their businessmen.

Jiang noted that the world is diversified and colorful with each country having its own history, culture and custom. Therefore, cooperation should be carried out through seeking common ground while shelving differences and on the basis of equality and mutual benefit, he said, adding that this underlines the continued development of economic and trade cooperation between China and Saudi Arabia.

Saudi businessmen are welcomed to China to get familiar with the Chinese market and investment environment, Jiang said. He hoped that the Saudi businessmen will make new contribution to the further development of bilateral friendly cooperation.

Abdul Rahman Al-jeraisy, president of the Saudi Chamber of Commerce, agreed on the bright prospect of Saudi-Sino cooperation. Saudi Arabia regards China as an important friendly partner, he said.

Al-jeraisy, who is also chairman of the Saudi-Sino friendship society, expressed his admiration as well as congratulation for the accomplishment that China has achieved since the opening-up and reform. Members of his organization will make unremitting efforts for the continued development of economic and trade cooperation between the two countries, he said.
