World Pak Chief Executive Meets Commonwealth Delegation

Pakistan's Chief Executive General Pervaiz Musharraf Friday met a four-member Commonwealth ministerial delegation led by Canadian Foreign Minister Lloyd Axworthy.

According to an official press release, the meeting, which lasted for about 40 minutes, was held in a cordial atmosphere and the two sides had an exchange of views during the meeting.

General Musharraf said Pakistan valued its relations with the members of the Commonwealth and its association with "this fraternity of nations."

The Commonwealth delegation, which also included high-level officials from Barbados, Ghana and Malaysia, is currently on a fact-finding tour in Pakistan to assess the political situation in the country.
