China Macao's Handover to Attract 2,900 Reporters

The Information Office of the State Council said on October 29 that, more than 2,900 journalists from both at home and abroad had registered to cover Macao's handover ceremony and related celebration activities.

Organizers for the handover have been accepting applications since August 2 by reporters representing 279 media organizations, including 123 newspapers, 23 news agencies, 65 TV stations, and 20 broadcasting stations.

The Information Office said that a press team, composed of more than 600 journalists from the People's Daily, Xinhua News Agency, China Central Television and other major news organizations in the Chinese mainland will go to Macao to report on the event.
