Sports Hardy Fink: China to Beat Russia for Men's Team Title

The host country China will beat Russia to capture their fourth consecutive men's team title at the World Gymnastics Championships, a top official of the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) predicted in Tianjin on Saturday.

Hardy Fink, president of the men's technical committee in FIG, believed that the men's team title will be decided between China and Russia.

"Nevertheless, I would put apart the host team as the best," Fink said.

Warwick Fobes, head coach of the Australia men's team, greatly supported Fink's impression, as saying "the Chinese are strong and solid team. Everyone else stopped and watched hypnotized as soon as the Chinese team have started performing on the apparatuses two days ago."

As a former gymnast, Fink considered Lu Yufu of China, Alexei Bondarenko of Russia and Ivan Ivankov of Belarus are the hot favorites in the all-around competition.

"Lu has a superb physical condition as well as his difficult routines," the FIG official said.
