Beijing authorities announced last week that they are making a plan to require new buildings include such charging posts in the future, to meet the government's goal to popularize green travel.
The plan, by Beijing's municipal commission of urban planning, is due to be released by the end of the year.
The commission is considering making it compulsory for new buildings such as residential communities, office buildings, shopping malls, hospitals, hotels and tourist areas to include charging posts. The rule is also likely to apply to new public parking lots, gas stations and highway service areas.
