Survey: 82.4 % young Chinese optimistic about relationship with EU

Chinese President Xi Jinping has just finished his four-nation Europe tour, which took him to the Netherlands, France, Germany and Belgium. Xi's visit sparked a lively debate among Chinese.

China Youth Daily recently conducted a survey about Xi's visit to Europe among 3,120 people. 79.6 percent of the respondents said they pay attention to Europe; 93.2 percent of the respondents want to travel in Europe; 95.2 percent agree that the current China-EU relations is important. 82.4 percent are optimistic about the future relationship between China and the EU.

When asked what in Europe impressed them the most, the top five answers they gave are natural environment (81.6 percent), cultural landscape (73.5 percent), scientific and technological achievements" (47.6 percent ), "fashion consumption" (45.1 percent) and football (44.8 percent).

The majority of the respondents are young Chinese: 45.5 percent were born after 1980, 32.9 percent were born after 1970.
