Located in Menyuan Hui Autonomous County in northwestern China's Qinghai Province and with an average altitude between 3,600 and 4,300 meters above the sea level, Qilian Mountains Tunnel is the most difficult parts of the 1,766-kilometer Lanxin high-speed railway, linking Lanzhou, capital of Gansu Province, with Urumqi, capital of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. The world's highest high-speed railway tunnel is expected to be completed by April this year.
