According to the Ministry of Land and Resources, proven oil and gas reserves in China increased substantially last year and the production increased steadily as well.
Statistics show that China's proven new oil reserves reached nearly 1.1 billion tons in 2013. It was the 11th year that the proven oil reserves exceed 1 billion tons since 1949. The proven oil reserves also achieved significant growth by increasing 616.4 billion cubic meters in 2013. For production, last year's national oil output reached 210 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 1.4 percent. Natural gas production was 117.6 billion cubic meters, a year-on-year increase of 9.1 percent.
