BEIJING, Jan. 7 -- Vice Premier Zhang Gaoli met with President of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) Takehiko Nakao on Tuesday in Beijing and exchanged views on cooperation between China and the ADB.
Zhang said China is willing to strengthen partnership with the ADB as the two sides have had good cooperation over past years.
He said Asia development is faced with severe challenges and the ADB, as an important multilateral development organization, should continue to play a vital role in poverty reduction and development in Asia.
The Communist Party of China has laid out an overall assignment for China's further reform, which could make positive contributions to world economic growth, he said.
Nakao expressed willingness to further enhance cooperation with China and provide support to China for its reform and development.
