Top Chinese legislator pledges cooperation with Bolivia

BEIJING, Dec. 20 -- Top Chinese legislator Zhang Dejiang called for legislative cooperation between China and Bolivia during his meeting with visiting Bolivian President Juan Evo Morales Ayma on Friday.

Zhang, chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC), spoke about the development of the two countries' relations, saying the two sides have increased high-level contacts, improved political trust and strengthened cooperation.

The NPC underscores the relationship with Bolivia's Plurinational Legislative Assembly and hopes the two sides will maintain friendly exchanges at all levels, enhance cultural communication and further develop bilateral ties.

Morales thanked China for its assistance to Bolivian economic and social development.

He said Bolivia is willing to advance mutually beneficial cooperation in all fields and hopes China will play a bigger role in international affairs.
