BEIJING, Nov. 7 -- Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi will attend the 12th Meeting of the Foreign Ministers of China, Russia and India and the 11th Foreign Ministers' Meeting of the Asia-Europe Meeting in India on Nov. 10 and 11, the Foreign Ministry announced on Thursday.

Wang was invited by Indian External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid, spokesman Hong Lei said at a routine press briefing.

Of the China-Russia-India foreign minister's meeting, Hong said that the ministers will have an in-depth exchange of views on the current international and regional situation and issues of common concern.

China attaches great importance to the trilateral meeting, he said, noting that the mechanism of the meeting has played a significant role in promoting consensus and cooperation.

As emerging developing countries, China, Russia and India share similar positions on many international and regional issues, the spokesman said, adding that maintaining regular meetings will further trilateral trust and expand cooperation.

Hong said that he believes the upcoming meeting will yield positive results and contribute to regional peace, stability and development.
