HONG KONG, Oct. 18 -- Hong Kong Chief Executive C Y Leung on Friday met the visiting Mayor of London Boris Johnson at the Chief Executive's Office to exchange views on issues of bilateral trade.

Leung said that Hong Kong and London enjoy close trade ties and Hong Kong can act as a "super-connector" to link the business sector in Britain with business opportunities in the Chinese Mainland, a local government press release said,

Leung also encouraged British enterprises to set up business in Hong Kong to make use of the city's mainland connections and knowledge to gain further access to the mainland market.

Boris led a business delegation to China from Oct. 13 to 18. The mayor and his group visited Beijing and Shanghai, with Hong Kong as the last leg of their China tour.
