Senior Chinese and Russian officials on Tuesday agreed to work together on people-to-people and cultural exchange programs.
When meeting with Russian Deputy Prime Minister Olga Golodets in Guilin in south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Chinese Vice Premier Liu Yandong said China would work with Russia to continue to implement the people-to-people and cultural cooperation programs and push forward cooperation on education, culture, health, tourism, media, movie, archives and youth.
The two countries will join hands to host the Year of China-Russia Friendly Youth Exchange in 2014 and 2015, handle well the closing ceremony of the Year of China Tourism in Russia, and send 100,000 Chinese students to study in Russia in five years.
Golodets said Russia is satisfied with the development of humanities cooperation with China. Russia would work with China to advance the people-to-people and cultural cooperation in various areas and further cement the social basis of bilateral relations.
Liu and Golodets also co-chaired the 14th session of the China-Russia Committee on Humanities Cooperation.
