URUMQI, Sept. 2 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Vice President Li Yuanchao met with foreign leaders attending the third China-Eurasia Expo in northwest China on Monday.

The expo, scheduled to run from Sept. 2 to 7, is being held in Urumqi, capital of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.

When meeting with Kyrgyzstan Prime Minister Zhantoro Satybaldiyev, Li said China and Kyrgyzstan enjoy much political mutual trust, win-win economic cooperation and close coordination on security issues.

He suggested both sides outline their pragmatic cooperation from a strategic perspective, speed up formulating plans for cooperation in neighboring areas, step up construction of large-scale cross-border transportation infrastructure and ensure the smooth development of the natural gas pipeline between China and Central Asia.

Satybaldiyev said his country attaches great importance to its ties with China, hoping to cooperate more closely with China. He said he welcomes Chinese President Xi Jinping's upcoming state visit to Kyrgyzstan, believing the visit will advance the bilateral relationship to a new level.

When meeting with Tajikistan's First Deputy Prime Minister Matlubkhon Davlatov, Li noted China and Tajikistan had established their strategic partnership in May, 2013. The two countries should promote cooperation in trade, energy and agriculture, and strengthen connectivity so as to achieve more fruitful relationship, he said.

For his part, Davlatov said that as a good neighbor, partner and friend of China, Tajikistan is willing to implement the important consensus reached between the two heads of state and deepen mutually beneficial cooperation.

When meeting with Vice Chairman of the State Great Hural of Mongolia Radnasumberel Gonchigdorj, Li said China and Mongolia are friendly neighbors and strategic partners and complement each other economically.

China attaches great importance to its ties with Mongolia and is willing to strengthen cooperation with Mongolia in mining, infrastructure and husbandry to achieve co-development, according to the Chinese vice president.

Gonchigdorj said China's development has brought important opportunities to neighboring countries and that Mongolia is willing to continue and expand friendly exchanges and win-win cooperation with China.

In his meeting with United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Administrator Helen Clark, Li said China will continue to support the UNDP's work, actively participate in the international development agenda and help other developing nations to realize common development.

Clark said China's development has made important contributions to worldwide poverty reduction and sustainable development.

Li also met with former Nepalese Constituent Assembly speaker Subash Nemwang.
