Chinese Ambassador to Madagascar presents credential letter

ANTANANARIVO, Aug. 14 (Xinhua) -- The new Chinese Ambassador to Madagascar Yang Min presented his credential letters to the country's president of transition Andry Rajoelina on Wednesday.

"The president of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping accredited me as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China in the Republic of Madagascar," Yang Min told Andry Rajoelina at Iavoloha state palace 15 km south of Madagascar's capital.

"I am honored to receive the credential letters accrediting you as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to Madagascar," the president of Transition Andry Rajoelina told the Chinese Ambassador.

After the official ceremony, the new Ambassador said that during 41 years of establishment of diplomatic relationships, China and Madagascar have testified understandings and supports on vital interests and major concerns of two sides, have conducted fruitful cooperation in economy, commercial areas, education and health to deep constantly friendship between the two peoples.

"Very attached to traditional Sino-Madagascar friendships, China will work together with the Madagascar to strengthen relations of friendships and cooperation between the two countries for the great benefits of the two peoples," Yang Min said.

"Despite the change in recent years in Madagascar, I am convinced that the Malagasy people are able to overcome the current difficulties to adequately resolve the problem they face and to achieve political stability and economic development," Yang Min added.

Born in 1958 in Shanghai, Yang Min replaces Shen Yongxiang who went to Rwanda.
