BEIJING, Jan. 27-- Chen Ruixi, vice mayor of Sanming city in southeast China's Fujian Province has been sacked for causing the death of a cadre from alcoholic poisoning, according to a statement.
Chen has caused harmful influence on society, said the statement, published on Monday on the website of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI) of the Communist Party of China.
On Sept. 9, Chen was invited to a dinner hosted by a private enterprise. A cadre who accompanied him died on site after drinking too much.
Lei Yansheng, a state-owned bank president of Shaxian County in Fujian, has also been removed from his post by local discipline inspectors for causing the death of a staff member, said the statement.
On Aug. 13, Lei invited his clients to a banquet paid for with public funds where one of his staff died suddenly after drinking.
