GUANGZHOU, Dec. 31 -- Eight foreign nationals have been detained on suspicion of drug trafficking in south China's Guangdong Province, local police said Tuesday.
The public security bureau of Guangzhou, capital of Guangdong, said police confiscated 12.51 kg of drugs including methamphetamine and heroin last week.
The arrests were made in a hotel and a rental house in the city's Yuexiu District on Dec. 28. after police seized crystal meth from in the mail on Dec. 26 and launched investigation.
The bureau did not reveal the nationalities of the suspects.
Drug trafficking is a felony in China. Those convicted of trafficking more than 50 grams of heroin can face capital punishment.
