7 trapped in SW China colliery flood

Seven people have been trapped underground after a coal mine was flooded on Friday afternoon in southwest China's Guizhou Province, local authorities said.

The accident occurred around 1:30 p.m. at the Dachong Coal Mine in Changtian Township, Huishui County, according to sources with the provincial government.

Rescue work is under way.
