E China gas tank blast kills 4

Four people were killed and 33 others injured when a gas tank exploded in east China's Shandong Province on Tuesday afternoon, local authorities said on Wednesday.

The blast occurred at 5:57 p.m. at Boxing Chengli Gas Supply Co., Ltd. in Boxing County, Binzhou City, according to a source with the county government.

The victims include three employees from the company and a construction worker who was working temporarily in the company at the time.

Four employees of the company and nine other construction workers were injured in the explosion while 20 people staying near the site also suffered minor injuries.

The cause of the explosion is under investigation.
