Recently, Wang Demin, an old alumnus of China University of Petroleum and academician of China Academy of Engineering, has caught lots of attentions on the Internet because his photo on student card looks like famous Hong Kong actor Daniel Wu.
Many of his admirers came to China University of Petroleum’s collection museum just to view his handsome photo. But after leaning his resume from school’s record, the students moved their focus to Wang’s academic experience and achievements.
Wang Demin was born in 1937. His mother is a Swiss. Wang graduated from China University of Petroleum in 1960. He was former chief engineer, former deputy director of Daqing Petroleum Administration Bureau, vice president of Daqing’s science and technical commission, and a specialist on oil extraction receiving special allowance from the State Council.
He has won a number of national awards, such as national scientific development awards, national innovation awards. His achievements were posted and shared on many Chinese social networking sites.
Now students regard him as an idol, not only because of his handsome look, but also for his noble academic achievement.
