Demolition of bizarre rooftop villa begins

A rocky style villa caps the roof of a residential building in Haidian District of Beijing. A resident has spent years building a huge villa on top of a 26-storey building in Beijing. His neighbors complain about this oddity covering over 1,000 square meters, fearing its weight may cause structural collapse.

The villa, on top of an apartment building in Renji Shanzhuang, was built of rocks, decorated with trees and bushes and covers around 1,000 square meters, according to a statement from chengguan, or city management officers.
