Quake-hit NW China embraces first new life

The photo taken on July 23, 2013, shows the first baby born in the quake-hit Minxian County, northwest China’s Gansu province. Jiang Yafei, gave birth to a baby at a temporary tent in Minxian county, at 10:30 p.m. on Monday. The arrival of new life came only hours after a 6.6-magnitude earthquake jolted the border of Minxian and Zhangxian counties in Gansu.  As of 6 p.m. on Monday, 89 people had been confirmed dead and 515 injured. (Xinhua/Cao Zhengping)
