A patient, surnamed Li, was diagnosed to be positive of the H7N9 avian influenza virus on Sunday. The 55-year-old male once worked at the live poultry stall in the Shuanggou market to do live poultry business. Now the live poultry trade in Shuanggou has been suspended, and Li's stall and its surrounding areas have been disinfected. As of 6 p.m. on Monday, China reported 24 cases of human infection with the lesser-known H7N9 bird flu virus, including 11 in Shanghai Municipality, eight in Jiangsu Province, three in Zhejiang Province and two in Anhui Province. Among the seven fatalities, five were in Shanghai and two in Zhejiang.
