Xinhua)  17:20, November 21, 2012

Three released oriental white storks fly at Beidagang Wetland Nature Reserve in Tianjin, north China, Nov. 21, 2012. A total of 13 oriental white storks were saved by a wild animal rescue and breeding agency in Tianjin after they were found poisoned since Nov. 11. They were released Wednesday after being treated. The oriental white stork is listed under China's highest level of animal protection, as only 2,500 to 3,000 of them currently exist in the country. The species, which usually reproduces in the northeast, migrate south for winter, and the Beidagang Wetland is an important habitat along their migratory route. (Xinhua/Yue Yuewei)
