BEIJING, October 10 (ChinaMil) -- The concentrated training for leading officials of national defense mobilization and reserve force kicked off on October 10, 2013 at the National Defense University (NDU) of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA).
Leaders of related departments under the four general headquarters/departments of the PLA, deputy chiefs of staff in charge of mobilization of various military area commands and various services and arms of the PLA, commanders of various provincial military commands, leaders of the offices under the National Defense Mobilization Committee, and students of the 2013 Autumn National Defense Studies Class of the NDU participated in the training.
Approved by the Central Military Commission (CMC), the concentrated training for leading officials of national defense mobilization and reserve force is an important military activity of the PLA in 2013.
The concentrated training will focus on analysis of the situation and tasks, discussion of major issues and drills on mission subjects, etc. Through the training, the participating military and civilian leaders will further understand the new changes in the international strategic situation and the complexity and seriousness of China's security situation, and intensively study major problems arising from transformation and development of national defense mobilization and reserve force building.
Sun Jianguo, deputy chief of general staff of the PLA, chaired the opening ceremony. Jia Ting'an, deputy director of the General Political Department (GPD) of the PLA, addressed the ceremony. Song Puxuan, president of the NDU, and Liu Yazhou, political commissar of the NDU, and other leaders attended the ceremony.
