MOSCOW, August 22 (ChinaMil) -- At the invitation of the Russian Federation Air Force, seven J-10 aerobatic planes of the Air Force of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLAAF) arrived at the Ramenskoye Airport in the suburbs of Moscow on the afternoon of August 21, 2013, local time, to attend the 11th Moscow International Aviation and Space Salon.

The seven J-10 aerobatic planes and two Ilyushin Il-76 transport planes on the mission of guidance and support took off from an airfield in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region on the morning of August 20, and landed at the Ramenskoye Airport by way of the Novosibirsk Airport and the Yekaterinburg Airport where they were refueled and refreshed.

Based on China's independently-developed J-10 all-weather supersonic multirole fighter, the J-10 aerobatic plane is refitted in part and recoated, and it mainly undertakes such missions as air show and performance show in foreign exchange activities.

Maj. Gen. Yang Weidong, special-grade pilot and deputy commander of the air force of the Beijing Military Area Command (MAC) of the PLA, expressed that the Bayi (August 1) Aerobatics Team of the PLAAF is scheduled to stage three air shows at the forthcoming Moscow International Aviation and Space Salon from August 30 to September 1.

It is learnt that during the Salon, the Bayi (August 1) Aerobatics Team of the PLAAF will carry out friendly exchanges with the Warriors Aerobatics Team of the Russian Air Force, so as to further enhance strategic mutual trust and pragmatic cooperation between the Chinese and Russian militaries.
