BEIJING, Nov. 24 -- A judicial inspection campaign launched by China's Supreme People's Court (SPC) has checked 2,113 courts across the country for misconduct among court officials.

The inspection was launched in 2008 in a bid to strengthen superior courts' guidance and supervision over lower courts and promote a lawful and cleanhanded work style among the court system.

According to an SPC statement released Sunday, the country's high courts have inspected 266 intermediate courts so far while intermediate courts have checked 1,847 grassroots courts.

A total of 3,347 corrective suggestions were raised based on some 3,889 problems spotted during the campaign, said the statement, without offering details.

Senior SPC official Zhang Jiannan urged the ongoing inspection to focus on misconduct concerning work style, disciplines and the management of personnel, calling for early reports and timely corrections of questionable behaviors.
