China’s Communist Party will open a key meeting on November 9, the meeting is to set the country’s economic agenda for the next decade. The Third Plenary Session of the 18th CPC Central Committee will be held between November 9 and 12 in Beijing.
The announcement was made after political bureau members held a meeting presided over by CPC General Secretary Xi Jinping. At the meeting, they listened to opinions on draft reforms. Next month’s meeting will be the third time the 18th CPC’s 200-member Central Committee has gathered since a leadership transition last year. The priority is likely to be financial and tax reforms. Historically, such meetings, known as third plenums, have been a springboard for key economic change in China.
