On December 9, the annual meeting of Chinese Violin Society was held in Xiangyang. Nearly 60 violin masters from around the country gathered here to contribute ideas about how to promote the development of Chinese violin. Ding Yalin, the deputy mayor, participated in the annual meeting. Thirteen famous Chinese violin players including Sheng Zhongguo and Lv Siqing gave the audience performances of seven famous Chinese and foreign songs including Four Seasons and The Butterfly Lovers. “My suggestion to child players is: study and train hard according to a scientific method.” That night, Sheng Zhongguo, the violin player hailed as “Chinese Menuhin” not only played the classic song The Butterfly Lovers, but also guided people to appreciate the performances as a compere. Besides, he introduced some relevant knowledge of violin to the audience. “At previous similar concerts, I could not completely understand the music. Thanks to Teacher Sheng’s introduction to every piece and every player, I suddenly feel that I really enter the music and enter these songs,” a citizen named Lin Shujuan said.
