In Hong Kong, a special collection of personal articles from martial arts legend Bruce Lee were auctioned on Thursday. The event was held to commemorate the 40th anniversary of his death. Among the items, Lee’s famous yellow jumpsuit from one of his final fight scenes sold for 100,000 dollars.

This jumpsuit was one of 14 items, including clothes and movie props, to go under the hammer.

Lee wore the yellow suit with black stripes down the sides in his last movie "Game of Death", which he died before completing.

Lee’s bamboo whip from that film has sold for more than 12,000 U.S. dollars, while a Hong Kong-based collector from London bought Lee’s yellow nunchucks for 69,230 dollars.

George Philips, who works as an investment manager in Hong Kong, says the wooden martial arts weapon brings back childhood memories.

"I remember practicing these when I was a kid. We used to wear motorcycle helmets so we wouldn’t hurt ourselves," he said.

A jade pendant that Bruce Lee designed has also sold, grabbing 20-thousand U.S. dollars.

Lee died in 1973 from an allergic reaction to painkillers. His sudden death came at the height of his fame.
