German Culture Festival kicks off on campus

The ninth BISU German-speaking Countries’Culture Festival, sponsored by, opened Monday on campus of Beijing International Studies University (BISU).

Feng Pei, secretary of the Party committee of Beijing International Studies University, Prof Liu Xuehui, Dean of German Department of BISU, Li Jiyuan, director of and professors from Goethe Institute and German Academic Exchange Service attended the opening ceremony of the cultural festival and delivered speeches. has been sponsoring BISU Countries’ Culture Festival for many years. “We attach great importance to cooperation and exchanged with colleges and universities like BISU,” Li Jiyuan said. “We will continue to provide German learners in China with comprehensive service.”

According to Li Jiyuan, has dedicated to the study of German language as well as consulting of study abroad to Germany since the very beginnings of 2001. The website has now become a key access to full and accurate information of German-speaking countries and life guide abroad.

As a part of the cultural festival, “IBZ Cup” German speech contest, attracted dozens of college students in Beijing and Tianjin.

The 9th German-speaking Countries' Culture Festival will last a week, and a series of cultural events such as theme party based on Grimms fairytales, German movie night as well as Chinese-German Bilingual Closing Ceremony of the Culture Festival will be held.(Gao Yinan)
