On Nov. 2, a sea of clouds looking like a majestic ink and wash painting appeared in the sky over the Wuyi Mountains scenic spot in south China's Fujian Province.

The Wuyi Mountains are located in the prefecture of Nanping, in the northern border of Fujian province with Jiangxi province. It was included in the UNESCO's list of World Heritage Sites in 1999.

The Wuyi Mountains boast 36 graceful peaks, 72 fantastic caves and 99 interestingly-shaped rocks. The red hills (Danxia Landform) and crystal-clear waters are also top features. The cliffs and waters of the Wuyi Mountains are outstanding. The average height of the peaks is over 1,000 meters above sea level.

The best way to appreciate the beauty of the Wuyi Mountains is to take a bamboo raft drifting along the Nine-Bend River (Jiuqu Xi), which winds through the scenic area and offers spectacular views of the mountains in motion.
